For nearly two decades, XSB, Inc. has developed unique semantic technologies to enable people, organizations, and machines to understand, share, and act upon large amounts of data and complex concepts. Our patented technology transforms poorly described or inconsistent parts data found in enterprise applications into an integrated network of concepts that coherently represent the important relationships among parts used by the enterprise and its suppliers; we do this by integrating legacy data with rich external content. The result has been a marked reduction in the time and cost associated with product selection, determining fair market pricing, managing item obsolescence and ensuring regulatory compliance. XSB provides Government, Engineering and Commercial Buying Organizations with software and services to: • Standardize and enrich product data • Analyze product pricing and markets • Develop and share specifications, work instructions, and standards • Identify physical/logistics attributes for improved Parts Management In addition to our more traditional parts data management solutions, XSB recently launched SWISS, an interoperable data platform for accessing and consuming engineering data. Rather than approach engineering information as individual documents, SWISS views this content as a collection of interwoven data and concepts — text, tables, graphs, equations, images — which when linked together create seamless movement between them (a.k.a. interoperability) and “change awareness”. Every piece of data knows if it’s up to date, how it’s related to other data, and where it’s being used in the enterprise and supply chain. SWISS is a collaboration with the U.S. Department of Defense (Defense Standardization Program and Defense Logistics Agency) which partially funds SWISS’s development and helps to specify meaningful and valuable functionality for manufacturers and service providers of engineered goods.
